Student Enrollment Continues to Climb
ENROLLMENT HISTORY
As the fastest-growing school district in DFW, and one of the fastest growing in the state, Northwest ISD has enrolled 15,000 new students since 2010, and has increased enrollment 25 percent between 2017 and 2022. The student enrollment climbed 8.7 percent from 2020-2021 to 2021-2022 and residential developments indicate that NISD will continue to be a fast-growth school district for many years to come.
enrollment Projections
While it is impossible to predict exactly how many new students will move into NISD each year, the district partners with a demographer to review housing trends and enrollment projections to plan for growth and staffing needs. Demographers report that NISD can expect to enroll thousands of new students in the next several years, and the 2023 bond proposal is designed to accommodate 8,400 more students.

New Home Closings Means New Students
As approximately 3,500 new homes are being constructed and sold each year in Northwest ISD, more families are moving into the school district. NISD has enrolled approximately 800 to 1,200 new students each year for the past 10 years. This equates to the population of a new elementary or middle school each year.
